Wednesday Workshops
From the Zoom Team
John Kennedy, Host/Moderator
Judy Taylour, Coordinator/Chatbox
Bill James, Zoom Help
To learn more about various technology topics, you might want to check out the APCUG Wednesday Workshops and quarterly Saturday Safaris. These online Zoom events feature presentations by enthusiasts and experts in different aspects of computing, such as the Windows, Linux, and Mac operating systems, backups, AI, home automation, and more. You can also interact with the presenters through chat or open mic at the end of the presentations. You can attend these free workshops if you belong to an APCUG member group. If you don’t belong to a group, check for one in your area (search by state): https://apcug2.org/locate-a-user-group/
Register for the workshops by completing a Google form one of your group’s officers forwards to you. You will receive a registration confirmation and an email with the Zoom link and password after the registration deadline.
The APCUG Wednesday Workshops and Saturday Safaris are a great way to explore technology in-depth and learn new skills. Don’t miss this opportunity to expand your horizons and discover new possibilities with APCUG!
Wednesday Workshops began in May 2020 when members were sheltering in place and might need more to occupy their time. We started having them once a month and now have three. WWs have either an in-depth two-hour presentation by a single presenter, a panel of presenters, or two presentations with open mic Q&A following the presentations.
The WW presentations have received high praise from attendees and presenters. Both have enjoyed the Zoom meeting format instead of the VTC Webinar presentations. With the WWs, cameras are an option for everyone although the presenters like seeing the many people attending the workshop. Everyone enjoys the feature where the mics are open at the end of the workshop for general questions, comments, and sometimes socializing. We have people that attend just about every workshop, even from Australia. We’ve become a Wednesday family.
