Ray Baxter

Ray Baxter, Coordinator, Payson Computer Meet-Up Club; APCUG Treasurer

Ray was born and raised in New York City. His 40+ year banking career started in “back office operations” and progressed to marketing and management positions in both NYC and Los Angeles with three different major international financial institutions.

Ray’s first introduction to personal computers came with a Radio Shack purchase in 1986, and it has been a constant learning experience since then looking to stay current with the changes in technology.

Today Ray lives in central Arizona’s Rim Country and teaches four computer courses at Gila Community College including one for “Beginners” as well as MS Office and Windows 10.

Ray considers himself an early Rock & Roll historian and has conducted community fund raisers with his “Birth of Rock & Roll” presentation. He is the past President as well as Treasurer of the Doo-Wop Society of Southern California, a 501(C)(3) organization that for over 13 years produced live quarterly musical stage shows featuring vocal groups of the 1950s.

Ray was the long-time President of the Payson Area Computer Association in Payson, AZ., and has reformed PACA into a “meet-up” computer club. He currently serves as a Director and Treasurer of APCUG.
