Jim Glass

President, Glendora’s Computer and Technology Club

Jim is once again president of Glendora’s Computer and Technology Club. He has been a member since 2001 and, as Program Chair, gets to research technology as it becomes available. He got started in computers with a Sinclair, then a Radio Shack TRS-80, Commodore 32 and 64, a Mac+ and ended up in the PC world. He is now exploring the world of Chromebooks. He was also an early adopter of the mobile phone.

He used the computers for various purposes: writing a book on the Commodore 64 and then porting it over to the Mac+. PCs at that time didn’t have software to self-publish a book (Traffic Court-How to Win). He set up the computers that were dropped by the IT department in the office of the Public Defender-LA County and used them for work and research.

He is an amateur photographer (darkroom in high school) and moved to digital photography as it became available. He is presently converting old photos and videos to digital. He also experimented years ago with home automation with the X10 system, which still works.
