Ray Baxter
Ray Baxter, Coordinator, Payson Computer Meet-Up Club; APCUG President and Treasurer
Ray’s first introduction to personal computers came with a Radio Shack purchase in 1986, and it has been a constant learning experience since then looking to stay current with the changes in technology.
He first joined APCUG as the Region 9 Advisor in 2013. Two years later, he was elected a Director while also serving as Treasurer. In 2021 Ray became President while continuing as the Chair of the Finance committee, and a member of the Contests, Legacy, and Membership committees.
Ray was born and raised in New York City. His 40+ year banking career started in “back-office operations” and progressed to marketing and management positions in both NYC and Los Angeles with three major international financial institutions.
Ray lives in central Arizona’s Rim Country with his wife, Carol. The COVID-19 pandemic was the primary reason he stopped teaching three computer-related courses at the Payson campus of the Eastern Arizona College.
As the long-time President of the Payson Area Computer Association, he reformed PACA into a “meet-up” computer and technology club using Zoom to hold their monthly meetings.
