Don Singleton 2015 Volunteer of the Year Award
Volunteers are the backbone of APCUG and its member groups; they are what keep their user groups viable. Volunteers come in all shapes, sizes, and personalities plus they all have a different reason for volunteering. They are idea people and do-it people. All user group volunteers have this in common: their advocacy for technology and their dedication and commitment to their user group.
To honor long-time Director Don Singleton, who passed away in 2012. APCUG established the award which recognizes the importance of volunteers to APCUG’s member groups.
Do you have a great hard-working volunteer in your group you would like to recognize and honor? Nominate him/her for the Don Singleton Volunteer of the Year Award. This year’s nominations will start November 1st and end November 30th.
The recipient will be announced in early January and a plaque will be sent to the awardee’s user group so it can be presented at a meeting.
Three award judges will objectively evaluate candidates against the below selection criteria:
- Brief explanation of why you feel your user group’s nominee should receive the Don Singleton Volunteer of the Year award.
- Describe how your volunteer has made a difference to your user group.
- Show specific examples of your volunteer’s roles and responsibilities.
- Explain how your volunteer has shown initiative and leadership in his or her efforts.
